The Kids Crafts & Game Room is the perfect place for children to get creative and try new crafts, play games, and mingle with other kids. Ski and family movies for all ages are shown each day with free popcorn!

Located in the Palisades Room, just across from the main lobby/Village Front Desk at The Village at Squaw Valley. Please check in at the front desk

Lake Tahoe Backcountry Demo Event

​The Annual Lake Tahoe Backcountry Demo Event is North America’s largest venue for all things alpine touring, telemark and splitboard!

A community-oriented leader in the backcountry industry for 30-plus years, Alpenglow Sports has worked hard to foster the largest, and most well-known backcountry demo event in North America.

The event is held annually at Alpine Meadows Ski Resort, a destination known for popular hikes, great out-of-bounds terrain, and easy to access side-country. The event provides a forum to perpetuate the enthusiasm for all aspects of in-area and backcountry skiing.

The event is free, but participants must possess a valid lift ticket or season pass purchased from Alpine Meadows or Squaw Valley USA, along with a driver’s license and credit card for deposit.

Event Description:
Join us for a winter fireworks celebration at Squaw Valley! This New Year’s Even we’ll be lighting the night air with a special fireworks show on the KT Deck. Then after the holidays, the excitement continues with a firework show every Saturday through March 31. Plaza Bar will be open with a complimentary hot cocoa bar for the kids and full food and beverage menu for the whole family.
-December 31 New Year’s Eve fireworks start at 7pm
-Every Saturday in January shows start at 5:30pm
-Every Saturday in February shows at 6pm
-Every Saturday in March shows at 6:30pm

Long after the slopes have closed for the day, bundle up and jump aboard the gondola for an exclusive ride up to the iconic Zephyr Lodge at 7910’.  Take a short walk along a lantern lit path to the lodge where live music and hand-picked wines await. Each dinner will feature a unique menu using fresh, California-sourced ingredients masterfully prepared to highlight the flavor notes in each wine selected. Mingle with other epicureans, chat with the Executive Chef and listen as the winemaker describes each pairing prior to indulging. Moonlit Snowshoe Tour & Dinner

After the mountain closes and the winter moon rises, experience a snowshoe tour to the mid-mountain Chalet at Alpine Meadows.
Enjoy an intimate seated dinner where you’ll be served an Alps-inspired menu with dishes like potato cheese soup, chicken cordon bleu and apple streudel. This unique experience is only available for 50 guests and available during select dates during the winter season.

An endurance race staged across Sugar Bowl’s four iconic peaks—Mt. Judah, Mt. Lincoln, Mt. Disney and Crow’s Nest Peak—the “Quad Crusher” is an uphill event that will test stamina, grit and determination while highlighting Sugar Bowl’s beauty and terrain variety.
Two divisions and distinct courses will make this event fun for both seasoned athletes and passionate citizen uphillers. The event will conclude with an awards celebration, food, drinks and raffle with proceeds benefiting the Sierra Avalanche Center.

The Luggi Foeger Uphill Downhill Festival is a Two (2) day event at Diamond Peak Ski Resort, located in Incline Village, Lake Tahoe, Nevada. The event celebrates skiing, snowboarding, telemarking, and snowshoeing by bringing together winter enthusiasts of all types to interact and engage in a light hearted competitive environment. The goal of the event is to reward participants for not only Men’s and Women’s fastest competitors, but also costume creativity, fun, team, and spirit. The event is being co-hosted by the Sierra Avalanche Center with certain activities having a suggested donation to the center incorporating a fund raising aspect. The focus will remain on Fun, Skiing, Family, and the Silliness of Skiing.
